FILIPE COMER

The most cheerful fella you're likely to meet, and the only man in recent years with the ability to levitate a Jaguar. Makes it look so easy he did it twice...

D Class' foremost beard, at the helm of his occasionally-airborne steed

Edged out in the beard stakes by the far bushier Roger Webster, Philip "Felipe" Comer wins the battle of the face-fungus on merit, due to careful trimming, proving that size isn't everything...

Filipe gained his Kutuka nickname after a performance at Brands Hatch in 2008, splitting a pair of slower cars in the TTRS race, and making a dive on Webster for beard-position at Druids that came from so far back he was in a different postcode when he set about it.

Filipe is now a veteran of the series, with a familiar class D car distinguished by the "It's Classic" sticker on the rear bumper, and to baffle onlookers, a cow on the bonnet. It's meant to be a big cat, you silly bearded man, not a cow...

Sadly Filipe lost his steed - see, we can do cow terminology - at Cadwell Park in 2009 with a spectacular accident when the brakes completely failed to stop him mating the car with the tyre wall. With cow pimping being so lucrative, we think he just forgot where he was for a moment.

With the car written off, and oh boy, it was, many would have quit, but with typical cheer Filipe is back for 2010 with a new car, and thank Christ he's finally getting rid of those lethal inboard brakes....

2009 proved a very eventful year for Filipe. Winning the class at the first race of the year see right for the chaos that put him there, he was on target again at Cadwell until a spin going up the Mountain, and we do mean at the very top, helicoptered him down the order.

That's after the Caterham that dived on him and forced Filipe to leap-frog it, literally, at Oulton Park, flying, again literally, into the grit.

Not content with that, the second Cadwell race saw him perform a full roll. With these achievements to his credit, Kutuka had no problem awarding Filipe the "Fantasia" award for the best Jaguar spin of 2009....

There is no truth in the rumour that Philip Comer is in fact vampire-hunter Daniel Holtz, or that he has ever appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer or spin-off series.
